HaptX, Inc. (“HaptX”) has developed this Privacy Policy to help you understand how it uses and/or discloses information that you provide to HaptX and information that HaptX collects from your device (e.g. your computer, phone, or other mobile device) (“Device”) while you access, browse, and use HaptX’s official website, located at https://haptx.com (the “Website”).

By using the Website, you agree to this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection and use of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy. You also agree to HaptX’s Terms of Use found here, which are incorporated into this Privacy Policy.

1. WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION DOES HAPTX COLLECT?

When you access, browse, or use the Website, the type of information that HaptX collects from you can be broken down into the following categories: the information that you provide to HaptX directly, information that HaptX collects automatically while you use the Website, and information that HaptX receives from third parties.

A. Information You Provide to HaptX Directly. When you use the Website or otherwise interact with HaptX directly via a customer service or product demo request, you may provide certain personal information to HaptX and it will collect and use that information for the purposes of this Privacy Policy. For example, to subscribe to the HaptX newsletter, you will need to provide your name and email address on the Website and we will use this information to send you newsletters about HaptX.

B. Information HaptX Collects Automatically. When you use the Website, HaptX will automatically collect certain non-personal information from the Device you are using to visit the Website including, without limitation, your IP address, browser type, operating system, referral and exit pages, and your access times. HaptX uses cookies and log files to automatically collect this information. For more information on HaptX’s use of cookies, please refer to Section 3.

C. Information Collected from Third Parties. From time to time, HaptX may receive your information from its third-party service providers. For example, when HaptX accepts employment applications via the Website, it uses a third-party service provider, such as Greenhouse.io, to receive and process the applications. All personal information you provide to apply for an employment position, such as your full name, email address, and other contact information, is stored on Greenhouse.io’s servers. For information on how Greenhouse.io uses your information, please review their privacy policy. HaptX may choose to use a different recruiting service at a later time, and its use of your information will be governed by its privacy policy.

2. HOW HAPTX USES YOUR INFORMATION.

HaptX uses your information in the following ways:

  • To operate, improve, and maintain the Website;
  • To send you newsletters, information, or updates about HaptX (for more information about newsletters and other marketing communications, please refer to Section 5;
  • To process employment applications;
  • To process product order or demonstration requests;
  • To respond to your questions about HaptX;
  • To understand how you interact with the Website;
  • To enforce our Terms of Use and to comply with our legal obligations.

3. USE OF COOKIES.

HaptX will not sell your information without your prior consent. HaptX will share your information only as provided below:

A. Third-Party Service Providers. HaptX engages third parties to perform services on its behalf, such as services for email delivery, hosting, and analyzing data. HaptX will share or allow these third-party service providers to access your information so that they can provide HaptX with the services. HaptX contractually requires all third-party service providers to only use your information in connection with the requested services and to treat your information as confidential information.

B. Business Transfers. As HaptX continues to develop its business, it may reorganize as a business entity, acquire entities, subsidiaries, or business units, or enter into joint ventures with third-parties. In any of these types of transactions, any information you provide may be one of the transferred business assets (subject to any pre-existing privacy notice unless you consent otherwise). In the event that all or substantially all of HaptX’s assets are acquired or HaptX merges with a third-party, your information will likely be one of the transferred assets. HaptX may also disclose your information to defend against legal claims when HaptX believes that disclosure is necessary to protect HaptX’s rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request. HaptX may share your information in order to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, and situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Use, or as otherwise required by law.

5. NEWSLETTERS AND OTHER HAPTX MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS.

HaptX may use your information to send you newsletters and other marketing communications about HaptX. If you wish to unsubscribe from a mailing list, you can click on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email and you will stop receiving marketing communications. Please allow up to two weeks before you stop receiving marking communications. Please also note that you may continue to receive emails unrelated to marketing.

6. THIRD PARTIES AND THEIR PRIVACY POLICIES.

Throughout the Website, you will see links to third-party websites or services that are controlled by companies other than HaptX. If you click on these links and visit the third-party websites or services, HaptX is not responsible for the content or services provided by these third parties. You are subject to the terms of use and privacy policies of the third parties and HaptX encourages you to review them.

7. SECURITY

The security of your information is important to HaptX. HaptX follows generally accepted industry standards to protect the information submitted to HaptX, both during transmission and once it is received. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, HaptX cannot guarantee its absolute security. While no security system is completely secure, HaptX and its third-party partners and vendors take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access or disclosure of the information collected by HaptX. For HaptX, this includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that all Information is disclosed only on a “need to know” basis and ensuring that all information collected by HaptX is done so via secured connections and protected and encrypted industrial grade security software to guard against unauthorized access.

8. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS OF YOUR INFORMATION.

As an organization operating through the internet, HaptX may transfer your information across international borders to third parties acting on its behalf, or for the purposes of processing or storing your information under this Privacy Policy. By providing any information to HaptX, you consent to the transfer, processing, access, and storage of such information outside of your country of residence, where data protection standards may be different.

9. ACCESSING, MANAGING, AND UPDATING YOUR INFORMATION.

10 MINORS.

The Website is not directed to children under the age of 13 and HaptX does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If HaptX learns that it has received any type of information from a child under the age of 13, HaptX will delete such information. Please contact HaptX at support@haptx.com if you believe HaptX has collected information from a child.

11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY.

HaptX may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If HaptX makes any material changes as to how it collects, uses, or discloses your information, it will notify you via email if it has your email address on record, or via a notice on the HaptX Website.
